Nepal will look to make the most out of their first ever encounter against Ireland to be played in Fatullah under floodlights on Wednesday.
Both teams have met a couple of times in the U-19 World Cups but the first senior squad clash between the two teams just ahead of the World Twenty20 will give Nepal and Ireland an opportunity to test themselves in perfect way.
As Ireland have already begun to knock full-member doors following their stunning victories in the past and most recently a shocking win against World Twenty20 champions West Indies, Nepal will get ample of chance to make the most out of the game.
Though a warm-up game, the match is going to be the first higher-level encounter for Nepal in their cricketing history.
Ireland were the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers champions and their experience of English cricket will no doubt make them the favourites. Nepal will have nothing to lose and both coach Pubudu Dassanayake and skipper Paras Khadka would be itching to go forward with their final-XI for the tournament proper.
Ireland are the favourites to qualify for the next round from Group ‘B’ in presence of the Netherlands, UAE and Zimbabwe in the pool. After the Ireland showdown, Nepal will play another warm-up game against the UAE at the same venue in Fatullah.
