Nepal has given a target of 138 runs to the experienced side Ireland in their first warm up match on ICC Twenty20 World Cup at Fatullah, Bangladesh today.
Nepal managed to make 137 runs with the loss of seven wickets after Ireland won the toss and asked Nepal to bat first.
Nepal’s total was built around skipper Paras Khadka and Gyanendra Malla after they lost openers Sagar Pun (six) and Subash Khakurel (10) cheaply.
Gyanendra Malla who missed half century was the highest run scorer for Nepal. Malla made 47 runs playing 35 balls with three fours and a six. Likewise Captain Paras Khadka also contributed 31 runs in 27 balls with as much boundaries and six as Malla had made.
After Paras lost his wicket, Nepal also saw the dismissal of Binod Bhandari (five) and Sharad Vesawkar (nine) in quick succession. Gyanendra shared another 31 runs with Naresh Budhayer who made a 14 off 15 with two boundaries.
George Dockrell, Andy McBrine and Kevin O’Brien picked up two wickets each for Ireland.
