The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is preparing for Nepal’s possible warm-up tour in South Africa ahead of World Cricket League Division II. The Division II begins in Namibia from January 17 to 24 where the top two teams out of the six participating countries will qualify for the ICC World Cricket League Championship and ICC Inter-continental cup.
Nepali National cricket team’s coach Pubudu Dassanayake had wanted the cricket’s governing body to manage a tour in the African soil that could be helpful in acclimatizing to the local conditions along with the wickets.
CAN in response is moving ahead with the process and final confirmation is yet to be made.
Nepal will meet host Namibia, the Netherlands, Canada, Kenya and Uganda in Division II.
Nepal, who clinched the title of Division III held in Malaysian defeating Uganda in the final on October 30, is also participating in 15-days tour in Sri Lanka under ACC High Performance Program for Division II.
The Nepali team is leaving for Sri Lanka on Thursday.
