Nepal have given a target of 285 runs to Iran in their openingmatch of the ACC Women’s Championship at the Chiang Mai Gymkhana grounds in Thailand on Tuesday.
Batting first,Nepal made 284-6 in their allotted 40 overs with opener Sita Rana Magar and Sarita Magar making half centuries.
Sarita top scored in the match with 72 runs from 94 balls hitting seven boundaries, while Sita collected some quick runs making 61 off 50 that included 10 fours.
Neera Rajopadhaya also contibuted 47 from 46 with five hits to the fence. Iran gave 69 extra runs to Nepal.
Sita and Shobha Ale gave Nepal a 48-run stand for the first wicket before the latter lost her wicket for eight runs.
Sita then added super 107-run partnership for the second wicket that took Nepal to a comfortable position.
After Sita lost her wicket, Nepal were jolted by quick dismissals of Mamta Chaudhary (seven) and skipper Rubina Chhetri (nine).
Sarita and Neera then shared 72 runs for the fifth wicket taking Nepal close to 300-run mark.
