Nepal lose to Afghans by 10 wickets

Nepal lost to arch-rivals Afghanistan by 10 wickets in a defeat that is all but certain to loosen their grip on the ACC U-19 Premier title.

At the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Nepal were bundled out for a meagre 123 in 47.5 overs after electing to bat first. With a strong batting line-up, openers Hazratullah and Nasir Khan were enough for Afghanistan as they reached 127-0 without loss in 25 overs. Hazratullah top scored with a 71-ball 68 smashing six boundaries and three sixes, while Khan made 57 off 79 with seven fours.
Earlier, Nepal were in the dire straits losing four wickets for just 23 runs inside 11 overs. Sunil Dhamala pushed the total to a respectability adding 58 runs for the fifth wicket with Yogendra Karki.
Sunil was out next for 46 off 86 with five boundaries. Karki and Prem Tamang made 20 runs each for Nepal, while Dipendra Airee (10) was the only remaining batsman to reach double figures.
Zia-ur-Rehman and Perwez Malakzai took three wickets each for Afghanistan, while Naveen-ul-Haq also had two scalps. Nepal will next play hosts Malaysia on Monday.
