Nepal lift inaugural ACC U-16 Eastern Region title

Nepal lifted the inaugural ACC U-16 Eastern Region cricket tournament title with a 72-run crushing victory over Singapore at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Chiang Mai, Thailand on Sunday
Electing to bat first, Nepal piled up an imposing 183-6 in 35 overs on a back of a half century from Bishal Bikram KC and quickfire innings from Narayan Joshi. Surya Tamang and Ajay Kumar Loniya then picked up three wickets each as Singapore were all out for just 112 runs in 31.5 overs. 
Nepal got an early breakthrough after Pratish GC affected a run out of opener Aman Desai (four) the third over. Sai Harsha Venugopal then glued to the crease adding 31 runs for the second wicket with Ishaan Sawney (12) and 19 runs for the third wicket with Pramesh Singhavi (six). 
Those were the only two moments when Nepal had to struggle in their defense and once Ajay removed Venugopal, Singapore were thrown out of contest. Venugopal made 31 from 65 balls with two boundaries. 
Singapore lost their last seven wickets for just 36 runs. During the process, Arnav Wadhwa made 21 from 22 hitting two fours before he fell prey to Surya. Raoul Sharma (15) was their next best scorer. 
Surya returned the figures of 3-20 from seven overs and Ajay took 3-16 from five. Narayan and Kushal Malla also picked up a wicke for Nepal. 
Nepal had a torrid start in their innings losing opener Kushal (duck) in the second over with just three runs on the board. Rajan Magar (three) also lost his wicket cheaply. Subodh Ayer, playing in place of injured skipper Rit Gautam, made a run-a-ball 22 with three boundaries. Trit Raj Das was next to go for 22-ball 19 as Nepal were reduced to 66-4 in 15.5 overs. 
Bishal anchored the Nepali innings and together with Sunil Bhandari (15) shared 42 runs for the fifth wicket to consolidate the innings. Bishal continued to impress and notched up the best partnership of 48 runs for the sixth wicket with Narayan to lead Nepal to a match-winning total. 
Bishal was out in the 33rd over after making 63 from 79 balls with four boundaries and a six. Narayan was unbeaten on 46 from 23 balls, his innings including five boundaries and a six. Ishaan Sawney took two wickets for Singapore.
