Nepal gives target of 241 runs against Uganda

Nepal has made 240 runs with the loss of nine wickets in 49.4 overs in their match against Uganda in the ninth place play off during a match on ICC World Cup Qualifiers at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Tuesday. 

 

Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first. Prithu Baskota who was retired hurt after colliding with Sharad Vesawakar was the highest run scorer for Nepal making 59 runs.

 

Prithu during his first inning played 51 balls with nine fours and a six. Likewise Sharad Veshawakar contributed 41 runs, Binod Bhandari made quick fire 35 runs from just 21 balls while Captain Paras Khadka was able to make 30 runs for Nepal.

Opener Pradeep Airee was the first man to go making 23 runs while another opener Mahesh Chhetri made 19.

 

Vice captain of the team and middle order batsman Gyanendra Malla who made a brilliant half century against Canada made just eight runs.
