Nepal bundled out for third lowest total

Nepal national team were bundled out for 39 runs against Thailand in their second match of the ACC Women’s Premier Cricket Tournament match at the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Course in Thailand on Thursday.


It was Nepal’s third lowest total in their cricket history. Nepal’s lowest total was 26-8 in an 18-over final of the inaugural edition of the 2007 ACC Women’s Tournament final against Bangladesh. They were bowled out for 38 runs by Thailand in the 2013 ACC Women’s Championship semi-final. 

After electing to bat first, Nepali batswomen kept losing wickets as regular intervals before being bowled out for a low total in 28 overs.


Saraswati Chaudhary was the highest run scorer and the only player to make runs in two digits remaining unbeaten on 11 runs. Nepal’s scorecard read no boundaries.


Player-of-the-match and half centurior of Nepal’s last match against Iran, Sita Rana Magar was out for a duck. Apart from Sita, Karuna Bhandari and Sonu Khadka were also out for zero.


Experienced batswoman Neera Rajopadhyay made five runs, Mamta Thapa made three while Sobha Aale, Sarita Magar, Mamta Chaudhary, Rubina Chetri all made two runs.


Kajal Shrestha who was included in the team in place of Trishna Singh made just one, while Nepal got 11 runs as extras.
