Nepal set a new world record for bowling out an opponent for
One Day International’s lowest total after bundling out USA for just 35 runs on Thursday.
On a day when records tumbled, leggie Sandeep Lamichhane
produced best ODI figures by a Nepali bowler picking up 6-16 from six overs and left arm spinner Sushan Bhari snared 4-5 in a sensantional morning at the TU grounds.
The record emulates Sri Lankan team which had skittled out
Zimbabwe for same amount of runs in 2004. While Zimbabwe had survived 18 overs, USA played just 12 overs in the game.
Sri Lanka had also bundled out Canada for 36 runs during the 2003 World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe for 38 in 2001. Sri Lanka themselves were bundled out for 43 against South Africa in 2012.
Sandeep came up with the best ODI bowling figures for Nepal leaving behind Sompal Kami who had taken 5-33 against the United Arab Emirates last year in a bilateral series.
