NCA keep rolling against ICC Academy

National Cricket Academy (NCA) U-18 kept winning against ICC Academy with two victories in the Twenty20 matches in the NCA-ICC Academy Friendship Series at the TU Stadium on Monday.


NCA defeated ICC Academy U-18 by 50 runs before drubbing the visitors by 10 wickets in the second match. ICC Academy – hit for a massive 234 in another Twenty20 match on Sunday – managed to salvage some reputation today restricted the same side to 155-7 today.


ICC Academy had a perfect reply when Nishaad Edroos and Mohammad Ul Haq added 54 runs in the first 10 overs but their inning crumbled before squeezed out for 105-8.


Jitendra Singh gave the breakthrough for NCA removing Ul Haq for 33 off 34 and then man-of-the-match Aditya BK dealt a hammer blow with the four wickets. Opener Edroos was one of the batsmen to fall prey to Aditya. Edroos top scored with 34 off 45.


Earlier, Jitendra lifted NCA from 59-5 with a 40-run stand for the sixth wicket with Krishna Adhikari (24) and 35 for the seventh with Biraj Tandukar (14). Jitendra finished unbeaten on 49 off 30 hitting six boundaries. Abdullah Murad, Akshat Dhawan and Abdul Rehman Murad picked up two wickets each for ICC Academy.


In the second match, the tourists were bundled out for a meagre 69 in 18.4 overs after Prashant Shrestha picked up three wickets. NCA answered with 74 without loss in just six overs with their openers doing all job.


Arjun Adhikari smashed 40 off 21 with three fours and two sixes, while Roshan Adhikari made 24 off 16 with three hits to the fence.
