Telecommunication giants Nepal Telecom will be a new sponsor of National Cricket team for a three-year period and sponsor deal is more than Rs 10 million.
NT Managing Director Buddhi Prasad Acharya announced during the company’s anniversary programme on Thursday that NT has reached a final deal with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
Acharya said that it was a win-win situation for both the parties especially at a time when national team has been doing very good. “This is just a start from us. We want to build a long-term relationship with the national cricket team,” said Acharya.
“We will further evaluate the agreement in the next three years and decide over increasing the sponsorship amount and time duration,” said Acharya. CAN Chief Executive Officer Bhawana Ghimire was elated with the deal.
“long awaited …..finally efforts come to fruition. Need everyone’s support,” Ghimire, with whom cricketingnepal.com was unable to establish contact personally, wrote on her facebook fan page.
The national team has been running without sponsor for a long time after Pepsi and Standard Chartered took their hands out from their previous deal.
