National blind cricket from Feb 14

Cricket Association of Blind (CAB), Nepal is going to organize the Fifth National Blind Cricket Tournament that will kick off in Kathmandu from February 14.


CAB Nepal announced about the national tournament on press statement on Wednesday.


According to CAB Nepal the tournament which will continue till 18 February will serve as a selection for the 2014 Cricket World Cup for Blind, for which Nepal has already booked a place.


The one-day international World Cup of Blind will be held in South Africa in November later this year.


The national tournament will be held in league-cum-knockout format with six participating teams.


From this edition teams from Nepal Army and Kanchanpur will also participate in the National Blind Cricket Tournament.


Lumbini is the defending champion while the other participating teams are Kaski, Bagmati and Banke.


The final game will be played on 40 overs per side while all other matches will be of 20 overs a side.


In the opening match defending champion Lumbini will take on Army.
