Indian opening batsman Murali Vijay has been fined 25 percentages of his test match fee by International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday.
Vijay has been fined for putting an illegal logo on his bat during the only test match against Bangladesh held at Fatullah which ended in draw. ICC informs that Vijay had logo of his sponsor in the edges of his bat. But New ICC rules that has been operating from May 1 this year states that “Any number of Manufacturer’s Identification and/or design feature permitted on the edge of the bat but only within the top 9 inches.”
Vijay had used logo in the edges of his bat during their tour of Australia before start of World Cup. But at that time ICC had not made such rules.
