As captain Eoin Morgan and Joe Root scored century, England chased the target of 350 runs against New Zealand in fourth One Day International match held at Trent Bridge on Wednesday. With the win both team are 2-2 draw.
Chasing target of 350 runs England managed to win the match by seven wickets with 36 balls remaining. England’s win was made sure after Morgan and Root made 198 runs partnership for third wicket.
Captain Morgan who was awarded with man of the match award was highest run scorer for England. Morgan made 113 runs in 82 balls with twelve fours and five sixes. Likewise Root who remained not out made 106 runs in 97 balls with 14 fours.
Likewise Alex Hales contributed quick fire 67 runs from 38 ball with seven fours and four sixes to provide England a good start. Jason Roy made 38 runs while Ben Stokes who remained not out made 19 runs from 12 balls to help his team win the match.
Earlier as New Zealand posted 349 runs in 50 overs losing their seven wickets as their three batsman made 50 plus score. Inform batsman Kane Williamson made 90 runs in 70 balls with 12 fours and a six.
Likewise Ross Taylor who made two back to back centuries in second and third ODI made 42 runs before being trapped LBW by Steven Finn. Opener batsman Martin Guptil (53), Brendon McCullum (35) and Grant Elliot not out 55 runs helped New Zealand make a huge score of 349.
