Marsh to replace Clarke

Australian Cricket Board has added Shaun Marsh to their squad for their second test match against India to be held at Brisbane. Marsh was added in the team as a replacement of their captain Michael Clarke who has been out of remaining series against India tearing his right hamstring.

 

Earlier Marsh was in the squad for the Adelaide test. But as Michael Clarke was declared fit to play the match Marsh was released by board to play in Sheffield Shield.

 

Clarke who was back to the team before the first test match after suffering from hamstring problem has one again gone through the same problem. Scans have confirmed that Clarke has torn his right hamstring eventually taking him out of the remaining matches against India.

 

Australian Cricket Board has also included their right arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc in the squad for Brisbane test as an extra bowling option.

 

Second test match between Australia and India will be played at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 17 to 21.
