Mahabir, NCFC triumph on second day

Mahabir Club recorded their second consecutive victory in the Kathmandu District Senior Twenty20 Cricket Selection Tournament, while there was also a crushing victory for Nepali Cricket Fan Club (NCFC) on Friday.


At the TU grounds, Mahabir defeated Forever Cricket Club (FCC) by 39 runs. Batting first, Mahabir made 109-8 with Sandeep Shrestha making 42 off 47 balls hitting six boundaries. Bibhatsu Thapa also chipped in 20 off 30 balls with a boundary. FCC, in reply, were bundled out for 70 in 16.3 overs.


Rohit Sharma took 3-4 from two overs, while Munir Shrestha, Praful Vaidya and Nabin Pradhan had two scalp apiece for Mahabir. Ajay Nakarmi (14), Nikesh Shrestha (12) and Bishal Thapa (11) managed to cross double digits for FCC.


Earlier, Rajiv Yadav took 3-23, while Bishal Thapa and Sagar Joshi took two wickets each in Mahabir innings. 


In the second match, NCFC rode on a 53-ball 51 from Saurav Bhandari to crush Dilli Bazaar Club by 104 runs. Batting first NCFC made 135-5 in 20 overs before packing up Dilli Bazaar for 31. Arpan Kafle snapped three wickets for NFC with Prashant Shrestha, Bikash Chaudhary and Som Pal Thapa also having two scalps apiece.


Earlier, Saurav hit four boundaries in his innings and Som Bahadur Thapa also chipped in 46 off 47 for NCFC with three fours and a maximum. Diwash Rana took three wickets for Dilli Bazaar.



In Kailali District, Dhangadhi Cricket Academy (Tigers) and Srijanshil Youth Club won their respective matches. 


DCA Tigers defeated Sudur Paschimanchal Academy (SPA) by five wickets and Srijanshil overcame DCA Eagles by seven wickets. 


Tigers bundled out SPA for 46 runs in just 13 overs after Mahesh Adhikari and Aman Panthi picked up three wickets each. Tigers then reached 47-5 in 16.3 overs. 


Srijanshil squeezed out Eagles for 36 runs in 14.3 overs with Gyanendra Kunwar and Pemba Lama taking three wickets each. Srijanshil did lose their three wickets in chase but were barely troubled in the match.
