Former Australian all-rounder Darren Lehmann who is currently working as the head coach of Australian team has been awarded with a one year extension to his contract as the head coach.
Lehman who was given the contract of head coach Last year’s Ashes series in England after sacking their coach Mickey Arthur originally was in contact till June 2016 but after this extension his contract will be till end of June 2017.
Australia under Lehmann won the Ashes series held in Australia by clean sweep where they won five matches test series 5-0. Then they travelled to South Africa and won the three match series 2-1.
Australia clinched the number one spot in test matches for a short period in ICC Test rankings and now currently holds the number one spot in ICC ODI rankings.
