Leggie Sandeep takes first hat-trick of U-19 World Cup

Leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane on Saturday became the first player to take hat-trick in the ongoing U19 World Cup in
Bangladesh.

In Nepal’s second Group ‘D’ match against Ireland in Fatullah,
Sandeep
got this feat with a
treble in the 32nd over of the match that Nepal
won comfortably by eight wickets.

Wicketkeeper batsman Lorcan Tucker was the
first victim of Sandeep with
the bowling forcing the batsman for a big shot before it was foiled by Dipendra AIree. In the next ball Adam
Dennison was caught behind by
wicket keeper Raju Rijal. He then bowled Fiachra Barry Tucker to complete his hat-trick.

Sandeep has also become the only second
player to take hat-trick in U19 cricket for Nepal. Avinash Karn is the
first bowler to take hat-trick in U19 level. Karn had taken the
hat-trick against Bahrain during the 2013 ACC U19 Elite Cup.

Shakti Gauchan is the only Nepali bowler
to take a hat-trick in senior cricket for Nepal. Shakti had taken a
hat-trick during the 2012 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers against Denmark
in United Arab Emirates.

Team mates congratulate Sandeep Lamichhane who took hat-trick against Ireland U19.
