Left arm spinner Agar in Australian test squad

Australian cricket board has selected spinner Ashton Agar in Australian squad for their fourth test match against India to be held in Sydney from January 6. Australia is leading four test match series by 2-0 with third match ended in draw.

 

21 years old, left arm orthodox spinner will be a partner with Nathan Lyon for spin attack in Australian team for the fourth and final test match.

 

Agar had debuted against England in their last year’s Ashes series in England at Nottingham on Jul 10-14, 2013. The spinner who came to bat at number 11 made an outstanding 98 runs. But as a bowler he could not impress during the tournament. Playing two test matches for Australia, Agar has only two wickets in his name.

 

Former U19 player for Australia, Agar has 62 wickets in his name in First Class cricket playing 27 matches with strike rate of 80.9.
