Rising youth player Kushal Bhurtel and U-19 allrounder Anil Kumar Sah will get an opportunity to play for the national team in the two unofficial matches against United States of America (USA) and Kenya ahead of Nepal’s ICC World Cricket League Championship seventh and final round matches against the UAE.
Nepal, who are already out from the race of automatic qualification in the 2018 ICC World Cup Qualifiers, are scheduled to meet UAE on December 6 and 8. And ahead of the two matches, Nepal will meet USA and Kenya on December 1 and 3 respectively.
In a squad announced for the UAE matches, Anil and Kushal were among the four reserves also including seamer Jitendra Mukhiya and another rising player Siddhant Lohani.
The release squad released by team manager and technical analyst Raman Shiwakoti reads that Anil and Kushal will be travelling with the team as extra players. Both players are likely to get opportunities ahead of the UAE matches.
Anil had slammed a gritty half century against Afghanistan in the recently concluded ACC U-19 Asia Cup in Malaysia where he had impressed with positive body language. Kushal is touted as a new generation all-rounder with the ability to bat, bowl and pounce at the ball in the field.
