Virat Kohli, stand-in captain of India will be attending the funeral of Australian cricket player Phillip Hughes which will be held on Wednesday at Hughe’s home town Macksville.
In the absence of their regular captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni Kohli will be leading the team. Apart from Kohli, Indian team’s director Ravi Shastri, Coach Duncan Fletcher, team manager Arshad Ayub and some of the other players will also be joining the Hughe’s funeral.
The left handed batsman died on last Thursday after he was hit in his head by a bouncer during a match on Sheffield Sheield. He was rushed to hospital in unconscious situation and was declared death after two days of his treatment.
After the death of Hughes the second tour match of India was cancelled. As the funeral will take place on Wednesday the first test match between India and Australia which was scheduled to be played at Brisbane on Thursday has been cancelled and Adelaide test being announced as the first test match between the two countries.
