Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been ruled out of Asia Cup to be held in Bangladesh from 25th of this month on Thursday. He will be out of the tournament as he suffered side strain.
Dhoni got a side strain during the second test match against New Zealand in Wellington. Dhoni will now undergo rehabilitation for atleast ten days.
Virat Kohli will captain the side in absence of regular captain Dhoni whil Dinesh Kartik will sit behind the stumps.
Kohli has experience of only eight matches as a skipper while Karthik has not played for India since the tour of Zimbabwe last year.
India will play against the host Bangladesh on February 26 in their first match of the Asia Cup.
