KIST College has started with win in Thames Inter College Cricket Tournament held at Army Cricket Ground in Bhaktapur. KIST defeated Shanker Dev Campus by a margin of two wickets with one ball remaining in the match to register first win of the tournament.
Chasing a target of 121 runs KIST made 124 runs losing their eight wickets in 19.5 overs. KIST’s win was secured by opening batsman Nehal Chand and Captain Aashish Chand who added 50 runs for second wickets.
Captain Chand was the first to get out and break the partnership. Aashish made quick fire 25 runs in 24 balls. Nehal, who was later awarded with man of the match award played a sensible inning and made 41 runs in 52 balls before being run out from Sourav Sharma.
Earlier Shanker Dev posted 120 runs on the board losing eight wickets in 20 overs after wining the toss. Sandip Luitel was the highest run scorer for Shanker Dev who made 21 runs while Sourav Sharma also added 20 runs.
Aashis Chand took three wickets while Yunish Gurung booked two wickets in their name to restrict their opponent in moderate total of 120 runs.
