Kathmandu Rhinos leave for India for bilateral one-day series

Nepal’s Kathmandu Rhinos left for India on Tuesday to play a three-match Bilateral Home and Away One Day Series against Shivashakti Club of Agra.

The matches will take place from July 6-8 in Sadabad. Kathmandu district wicket keeping batsman Suman Udaya will lead the team that consists of Sonu Tamang, Rabin Joshi, Shaisav KC, Prakat Sherchan, Naveen Shahi, Avinash Bashyal, Himanshu Dutta, Prabin Joshi, Vibin Sharma and Rashik Kafle.

Sonu, who initiated for the tour, said the tour will be helpful for the youngsters. “There are some young cricketers like Shaisav, Vibin, Rashik, Avinash, Prakat and Naveen. Since it’s a 50-over game, they will get a great opportunity to test themselves in an environment of competitive cricket,” said Tamang. “Additionally, we are expecting to meet a good team who have represented in state level tournaments.”

“It’s an exchange programme for us and they (Shivashakti) will also visit Nepal for our home series after end of the rainy season,” informed Tamang.
