Region-IX (Kanchanpur) were bundled out for a record low domestic total of 17 runs at the Tribhuvan University Stadium on Monday.
In the 40-over match against Region-V (Nepalgunj), two players single handedly sent all Kanchanpur batswomen. This is the lowest total in all form of domestic cricket including men’s senior, age group or women’s age group cricket.
Skipper Nary Thapa was the major tormentor for the newly established region returning with the figures of 5-11 from six overs that included three maidens. Trishna Singh picked up 4-4 in 5.5 overs with two maidens.
Six Kanchanpur players were dismissed for duck, while three made one. Kanchanpur innings lasted for just 11.5 overs with no other bowlers needing to deliver. Nepalgunj chased the total in 5.3 overs losing one wicket. Following their third consecutive victory, Nepalgunj are in the semi-finals of the tournament.
