Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has been ruled out of Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament from his franchise Kings XI Punjab because of rib injury.
The pacer who has terrorized batsmen with his pace and aggression suffered from the rib injury during the tour of Zimbabwe where Australia played triangular series along with host country Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Johnson was advised not to join immediately for his franchise team Punjab for Champions League by Australia cricket board. It is said that Johnson has been in regular checkup after the tour of Zimbabwe and has not yet recovered from his injury.
Punjab will play their first match of the Champions League T20 Cricket tournament against Hobert Hurricanes at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Chandighar on September 18, Thursday.
