Former Sri Lankan captain and middle order batsman Mahela Jayawardene became the fifth batsman in the world to score more than 12 thousands runs in One Day International cricket on Sunday.
Jayawardene who reached his 17 century in the third match against India which was played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad made 118 runs to reach the mark of 12 thousands runs.
Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is on the top of the table with 18,426 runs while former Australian Captain in on the second with 13,704 runs.
Likewise former Sri Lankan and opening batsman Sanath Jayasuriya in on the third position with 13,430 runs and yet another Sri Lankan batsman and former captain Kumar Sangakkara is on the fourth position with 12,918 runs.
Jayawardene has who stated playing ODI from 1998 has played 426 matches till now and has scored 12,002 runs. He has 17 centuries and 74 half centuries in his 16 years of International cricket carrier.
