Region No 7 Janakpur and Region No 9 Dhangadhi has entered the final and gets ready for clash of the Wai Wai U-16 Girls’ National Cricket Tournament at the Hariwan grounds here on Tuesday.
Janakpur won the match Region No 5 Nepalgunj by 36 runs in the first semi-final while Dhangadi hammered Region No 1 Biratnagar by 75 runs where crucial knocks from Bindu Rawal and Chandani Shah set them for a big victory.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Dhangadi made 132-4 in 20 overs on the back of a half century from Rawal. Biratnagar, in reply, were skittled out for just 57 runs in 12.5 overs. Kavita Joshi was the pick of the Dhangadi bowlers taking 3-17 from four overs, while Kavita Kunwar also had one scalp.
Sangita Rai (17) was the only Biratnagar batswoman to make runs in double figures. Earlier, Rawal made a run-a-ball 53 not out with five boundaries and Shah clobbered six fours in her 54-ball 42 as Dhangadi managed to post a challenging total on the board. Rai also took two wickets for Biratnagar.
In the first match of the day, Janakpur made 100-6 in 16 overs with a half century from Mamta Chaudhary. Nepalgunj were restricted to 64-7 in reply. Laxmi Chaudhary made 28 off 45 with two fours and Ranu Chaudhary was unbeaten on 12 off 27 for Nepalgunj. Mamta and Anuradha Chaudhary picked up a wicket each for Janakpur.
