IPL Champion Kolkata starts with a win in CLT20

Destructive inning from Andre Russell helped Kolkata Knight Riders won the match against Chennai Super Kings by three wickets with six balls remaining in the hands during a match of Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.


Chasing the target of 158 runs Kolkata were 51 for 5 in 9 overs. Then Russell came to the crease and made quick fire 58 runs in 25 balls with four fours and five sixes with strike rate of 232 to take match away from Chennai.


RN Ten Doeschate also made 51 runs in 41 balls with three fours and two sixes for the IPL Champion to start the Champions League T20 Cricket Tournament with a win.


Earlier Chennai were able to make 157 runs with the loss of four wickets after Kolkata won the toss and elected to field first.


Captain MS Dhoni was the highest run scorer for Chennai who made 35 runs from 20 balls.
