India wins 4th ODI, Sri Lanka out of World Cup

ation Sri Lanka loses their four One Day Internationals
against India by a huge margin of 168 runs. With this lose Sri Lanka could not
directly qualify for upcoming World Cup to be held in England next year.

Sri Lanka
needed to win at least two ODIs to be qualified for World Cup directly. But in the
five match series they are already trailing by 4-0. 
Sri Lanka
chasing a huge target of 376 runs lost all their wickets in 42.4 overs making
just 207 runs.

Former
captain of the team, Angelo Mathews made 70 runs in 80 balls before losing
wicket to Aksar Patel. Apart from Mathews none of the batsmen could add huge
runs to help their team win the match. For India,
Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each to restrict
Sri Lanka and help their team book a comfortable win.

Earlier Indian
captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the match played
at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

With the
help of the century from Kohli and opener Rohit Sharma, India posted a huge target
of 375 runs in their 50 overs losing five wickets. For India,
man of the match Kohli smashed 131 runs in just 96 balls. Kohli smashed 219
runs partnership with Sharma for the second wicket with 17 fours and two sixes.
Sharma, who had scored a century in the third ODI too made 104 runs in 88 balls
with 11 fours and three sixes.

Likewise Manish
Pandey made not out 50 runs in 42 balls and former captain and wicket-keeper
batsmen Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not out 49 in as many balls. Angelo
Mathews took two wickets while debutante captain Latish Malinga also had a
scalp.

The fifth
and final ODI match between Sri Lanka and tourist India will be played on
September 3, Sunday at the same venue.
