Nepal’s opponents in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup, India, on Wednesday announced a 15-member Under-23 team for the tournament to be held in Singapore on August.
Mumbai batsman Surya Kumar Yadav will lead India against arch-rivals Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nepal in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and hosts Singapore are in Group B.
Nepal will play India at the Singapore Cricket Ground on August 20. The ACC Emerging Teams Cup begins from August 17 to 25.
The tournament includes full strength side from Nepal, Afghanistan, UAE and Singapore, while U-23 teams will feature from the four Test playing nations of the region.
The Indian team includes some of the big names that have already hit headlines in the Indian Premier League editions, particularly Unmukt Chand – who led India to the 2012 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup title finish in August last year in Australia. Other big names also include Ashok Menaria, Manpreet Juneja and Baba Aparajith.
