India loose in spite of century from Kohli

India loose the first One Day International against New Zealand by 24 runs in spite of century from inform batsman Virat Kohli in the match held at Napier on Sunday. With the result in the match New Zealand lead the five match series by 1-0.


Chasing the target of 293 runs India was all out for 268 runs in 48.4 overs. Virat Kohli who came to bat at number three made 123 runs in 111 balls but did not get a good partnership to take his team to victory.


Earlier India won the toss and asked home team New Zealand to bat first. New Zealand made a huge total of 292 runs in 50 overs with the loss of seven wickets.


Kane Williamson was the highest run scorer for New Zealand who made 71 runs and middle batsman Ross Taylor also contributed 55 runs for his team.


Likewise Corey Anderson who made the record of fastest century against West Indies on January 1 making century in just 36 balls scored not out 68 runs. Man of the match Anderson played 40 balls and scored three fours and four.


The second ODI between New Zealand and India will be held at Hamilton on January 22.
