India clinched five match
series by 3-1 as captain Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten century in the final
ODI against West Indies by eight wickets held at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica.
India chased the
target of 206 runs in just 36.5 overs with 111 not out from Kohli and 50 not
out from Dinesh Kartik.
Man of the match Kohli
added 79 runs for the second wicket with Ajinkya Rahane who made 39 runs in 51
balls with five fours. Rahane was rewarded with man of the series award.
Dinesh Kartik who was
playing the second match of the series added 122 runs with Kohli for third
wicket who played 115 balls with 12 fours and two sixes.
West Indies who batted
first wining the toss made 205 losing nine wickets in their 50 overs. West
Indies innings were destroyed by Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav bowling. Shami
took four wickets while Yadav took three wickets. Kedar Jadhav and Hardik
Pandya had a scalp each.
For West Indies opener
Shai Hope was the highest run scorer who made 51 runs while another opener Kyle
Hope made 46 runs.
Now home team West
Indies will meet visitor India in one-off T20 international to be played at the
same venue on July 9.
