ICC to look after Nepal’s sanction

International Cricket Council (ICC) President Alan Isaac has said he would look into the matter of 8.3 million-rupee sanction imposed by the world cricket governing body to the Cricket Association of Nepal and do his best.

Isaac assured to look after the matter after Nepal’s Youth and Sports Minister Ram Kumar Shrestha urged the ICC President to waive the sanction, informed senior sports journalist Devendra Subedi from New Zealand who was with the high-level Nepali delegate in New Zealand.

ICC had sanctioned the Nepalese cricket governing body with the huge sum for failing to submit the quarterly financial report at the end of 2012.

Isaac also said he was happy to see the progress made by Nepal in the recent years and recalled national team’s triumphant ICC World Cricket League Division-III tournament campaign in Bermuda last year.

Nepal had defeated Uganda in the final of the Division-III and made it to the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers ongoing in New Zealand.
