At the stroke of Nepali’s most celebrated festival, Deepawali, the ‘Hudhud’ storm that has gripped almost all part of India and Nepal, has taken a huge toll on cricket.
While the third ODI between India and West Indies has been called off, almost all cricketing activities in Nepal has been cancelled.
Among the major tournaments in Nepal, the Wai Wai Gautam Buddha International Cricket tournament has been postponed for two days. The event which incorporates teams from India will not be played on Tuesday and Wednesday. The tournament is currently in its second round.
Also, the five-game one-day series between the visiting Delhi Blues Cricket Academy and Great Himalaya Cricket Academy has also been affected. The first one-day between the U-19 teams of both academies on Tuesday was washed out. The series runs till October 18 but with Hudhud showing no signs of calming down it is certain to effect more few days of cricket.
