Jehan Herath – a former skipper in the Sri Lankan State Level MCC team – will join SPA for the tournament that begins in Dhangadhi from January 30. The tournament allows each team to field two international players.

Herath is an openers and a right arm leg break bowler. “He has played really well in the Division 1 tournament in Sri Lanka, so we decided to recruit him for the SPA Cup,” said SPA team manager Saurav Ojha.

A total of 16 teams are participating in the tournament that offers a cash purse of Rs 500,000. The runners-up will get Rs 200,000.
