The 14-year old Roshan Adhikari and 16-year old Dipendra Thapa made half centuries as U-17 team of Dhangadhi Cricket Academy marked a victorious day in their Sri Lanka tour winning both of their matches on Friday.
DCA played against RP Cricket Academy teams on Friday and won both the matches for their third victory in six matches they have played in their tour so far. In the first match, DCA humiliated RP ‘Pink’ by 95 runs after batsmen made merry at the pitch.
DCA piled their tour-high 158-4 with half centuries from Roshan and Dipendra after the Nepali side elected to bat first. Roshan made 60 and skipper Dipendra made 55 and combined for their third half-century partnership during the tour.
The hosts in reply were bundled out for 63 runs inside eight overs after Aman Panthi picked up three wickets and Nehal Pandey and Anmol Swar had two scalps apiece. Subdoh Ayer and Subrat Shah also took one wicket each.
In the second match, DCA made a remarkable comeback to defend their 143-6 against RP ‘Red’. RP were cruising along with just 46 runs required of the last six overs but they lost five wickets adding just one run and ultimately got bowled out for 106 runs in 16.3 overs.
Aman was once again the key to DCA victory picking up four wickets. Anmol Swar and Laxman Parki also took two wickets each. Laxman was the player of the day as he also starred with the bat making 33 runs, while Dipendra contributed 27 and Bibesh Singh chipped in 26.
