National cricket team vice-captain and opener Gyanendra Malla has signed kit sponsorship deal with Australia’s world famous sports gear manufacturing company Spartan.
Gyanendra previously had a three-year deal with another renowned company SS but it recently expired. The new two-year deal with Spartan will see Gyanendra promoting the company products and in return will be given cricket gears and kits.
No financial deal has been disclosed regarding the agreement. Nepali cricket promoter in England, Prashant Kunwar, mediated for the agreement between Gyanendra and Spartan.
Spartan is a company that has the associations with cricket’s global stars including Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, former India captain and current wicketkeeping batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, West Indies opener Chris Gayle and former Australian captain Michael Clarke.
Gyanendra is preparing for Nepal’s sixth round of the ICC World Cricket League Championship match against Hong Kong scheduled for October 13 and 15. Malla, with 277 runs, is third in the list of highest number of runs in the WCL.
