Middle order batsman Gyanendra Malla completed his second consecutive half century as Nepal defeated Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA)-XI by three wickets in Jaipur on Thursday.
Nepal – who are preparing for the ICC World Cricket League Division-III to be held in Bermuda from April 28 – registered their third consecutive victory in their seven-day tour. Nepal earlier had defeated Star Academy by three wickets on April 15 and had crushed Neerja Modi-XI by 79 runs on Tuesday.
Batting first, the local side was bundled out for 194 in 44.4 overs before Gyanendra led Nepal’s chase with superb 80 runs as Nepal reached 195-7 in just 39.5 overs. Gyaendra had also made 50 runs against Neerja Modi-XI in a match where three Nepali batsmen had smashed half centuries. Binod Bhandari also chipped in 32 for Nepal, while Sharad Vesawkar continued his fine form with 26 not out to carry the bat.
Earlier, left arm spinner Rahul Kumar BK picked up 5-26 to squeeze out a combined RCA-XI team to a low total. Abhijit Tomar top scored for the hosts with 58 runs, while Ankit Shashtri was their next best contributor with 40 runs. Nepal will now play another 50-over match in their tour before returning to Kathmandu on April 20.
