Gyanendra leaves for Bermuda, doubtful for practice match

The natioal team vice-captain and middle order batsman Gyanendra Malla has left for Bermuda late on Wednesday after he was granted visa by the British High Commission.

Gyanendra was unable to board the British Airways plane, on which the whole team had left for the ICC World Cricket League Division-III, on Tuesday after some complications in documents related to his birth date.

The authorities at the British High Commission granted Gyanendra the visas following an interview. “He has already left for Bermuda,” general secretary of the Cricket Association of Nepal told cricketingnepal.com.

Gyanendra will now reach Bermuda before tournament schedule but might be unavailable for Nepal’s practice match against Bermuda-XI on Thursday.

Nepal had left for Bermuda ealier than the tournament itinerary to acclimatise to the local conditions. Old foes United States of America are Nepal’s first hurdle in the Division-III which will send the top two teams in the 2014 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
