A 17-year old Gulshan Jha made a dream entry into the national after impressing in just two domestic matches.
Gushan, a right arm fast bowler with some serious pace and bounce, was widely talked about after his fiery spell in the final of the Mayor’s Cup One Day National cricket tournament became the cornerstone for Nepal Police Club’s title triumph against Nepal Armed Police Force Club.
He was called up for the national team closed camp for national cricket team’s upcoming tour of Oman and will now rank himself among those rare players who have played directly from the national team before featuring in the age group squad.
His current national team members Sompal Kami and Karan KC are two of them along with Binod Bhandari to have played directly played for the senior side.
Nepal are scheduled to play two One Day Internationals against Papua New Guinea before taking on Oman and USA in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 Tri-Series beginning from September 13.
CAN on Saturday announced a 17-member final squad and Gulshan will be itching to make a dream debut. Also returning to the squad were veteran Sharad Vesawkar, Rohit Kumar Paudel and Pawan Sarraf. Another fast bowler Bikram Sob has also made the cut.
Sharad will be making his appearance for the senior side after 2020 February’s ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series, also against the same Oman and American sides.
Rest of the members include the same side that competed in the Tri-Nation Twenty20 International Series against the Netherlands and Malaysia in April this year.
