A delegation from government officials on Friday inspected the Tribhuvan University grounds in Kirtipur to project on the estimation for the renovation of Nepal’s only international standard stadium.
The delegation which was led by Ministry for Youth and Sports Secretary Dipendra Nath Sharma and Joint Secretary Chuda Mani Poudel inspected all the areas at the TU Stadium. The inspection came just few days after the Legislature-Parliament held discussions with cricket and sports officials regarding the development of international standard stadium in the existing venues.
One of the delegates in the inspection informed cricketingnepal.com that a new gymnasium is planned in the TU Stadium, while the pavilion will be deconstructed to give it a whole new shape. The renovation will also include a well equipped and sophisticated dressing room, while the existing indoor facility will also get complete shape in the due course.
Nepal are expected to host one of their home matches of the ICC World Cricket League Championship by the end of April and for that the Finance Ministry had said it will financial assist Cricket Association of Nepal to renovate the stadium.
Other officials joining the inspection were CAN Chief Executive Officer Bhawana Ghimire, National Sports Council Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama, coach Jagat Tamatta along with architect and engineers.
