GHCA to organise two-day cricket league from December 5

Great Himalaya Cricket Academy
(GHCA) is organising the second Himalaya Cricket League from December 5-20 in
Kathmandu.

The tournament will be played in a
two-day format with each team given 60 overs to play in the first innings. The second
innings will be played with unlimited overs as each team will get 5 points for
picking up 10 wickets.

A total of six teams, majorly
academies from across the country, will be participating in the tournament.
GHCA President Sudeep Sharma said they are looking forward to organise round
robin league format but: “The final decision will be made few days ahead
of the tournament.”

“The important thing is that
our youngsters will get to play longer version of the game and that will bring
the best out of them,” said Sharma.

The tournament carries a budget of
Rs 5 million with cash prizes on offer for the top two teams and best
individuals. All the matches will be played at the Mulpani Cricket Ground with
the organisers mulling to use both the grounds.

GHCA,
which has been actively running cricket academies in Kathmandu and providing
friendly tours in different countries, said it will be increasing the number of
teams and elongate the duration of the tournament.
