Gayle to miss SA tour

Hard hitter left handed opening batsman has been exclude out of West Indies squad for their upcoming South Africa tour because of injury. West Indies cricket board informed about Gayle missing the tour issuing a press release on Friday.

 

Gayle has not played for West Indies from last September. After getting fit from lower injury Gayle did not get any chance to place in West Indies team during their tour of India in October which they left out the tour in the middle after playing only four ODIs after dispute aroused between West Indies Cricket team, West Indies Cricket Board and West Indies players Associations.

 

Another left handed opening batsman Devon Smith has been included in the squad as a substitute of Gayle. Smith had played his last test match against Pakistan in May 2011.

 

First match of three test match series between South Africa and West Indies will start on December 17 at Centurion.
