Former West Indies international Dwayne Smith has
become the second big name to be associated with Everest Premier League
Twenty20 competition kicking off from March 14-28 at the TU cricket ground.
In a video message from his social media account,
Smith confirmed that he was going to play in the Everest Premier League for
Bhairahawa Gladiators in Nepal’s most popular Twenty20 event. Gladiators are
the two-time runners-up of the tournament.
Earlier, South African cricketer Hashim Amla has
already been confirmed for the tournament. Its not clear which team will Amla
be representing in the tournament.
Smith last played for the Caribbean side on March 15
against the United Arab Emirates in the 2015 World Cup held in Australia and
New Zealand. He had announced his international retirement on March 1, 2017
after representing the West Indies in 105 One Day Internationals, 33 Twenty20
Internnationals and 10 Tests.
He has a haul of experience in Twenty20 having
played across the globe in the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League,
Pakistan Super League and Bangladesh Premier League. He has played a total of
