The fifth One Day International (ODI) match between India and Australia has been called off without a ball being bowled due to wet outfield on Saturday.
It has been continuously raining for a week which made all the outfield wet and was not possible to play the game.
The match was to be played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack but umpires called off the match after inspection they called off the play at 11 am in the morning.
Earlier in Friday evening the Odisha Cricket Association had released a statement and stated that the match might be called off as there very less chance to dry the ground which has been wet because of heavy rain for a week.
Helicopter was brought to dry the ground but was not possible because of mud collected in the ground.
India and Australia will play sixth ODI at Nagpur on 30 October with Australia leading the series by 2-1.
Fifth ODI played between India and Australia at Ranchi was also called off due to rain.
