National team middle order batsman Sharad Vesawkar is set to miss national team’s tour for Sri Lanka beginning from November 6.
Nepal are beginning their Sri Lanka tour with two-three day matches against Sri Lanka Development Squad. The first three-day begins from November 9, while the second will kick off on November 14.
According to national team coach Pubudu Dassanayake, Sharad has been suffering from fatigue after his return from the USA just ahead of Asian Games. Sharad played Twenty20 Cricket in Texas, US and joined the team for Asian Games.
Under a tight schedule he also joined the team in Malaysia for the recently held ICC World Cricket League Division-III but missed a majority of matches due to dehydration.
“After his return from the USA, his body has become weak and he needs some good sleep. His body needs some rest and we have decided to keep him off cricket for few days. Hopefully, he will be back for us to participate in the Division-II.
The Division-II begins in Namibia from January 17-24. Apart from the three-day matches, Nepal will compete in their first ever Twenty20 International Series – a three-match tournament against Hong Kong – and one 50-over game against the same side.
