Nepal’s experienced U-19 opener survived an injury scare during their fourth practice match against Noida XI in a rain-affected match .
Sandeep received a blow on his shoulder off a Ram Kumar Gupta when he was batting on five after Noida had made 278 all out from 49.2 overs batting first.
Sandeep was quickly taken off the field and was later revealed that the opener was fine to play team’s fifth and final practice match on .
Sandeep had represented Nepal in the 2016 ICC U-19 World Cup in Dhaka, Bangladesh and he is expected to provide the Nepali batting order a boost with his experience. He has been forging a good partnership with opening partners Aasif Sheikh in the U-19 team’s practice matches in Greater Noida.
Nepal will leave for the ICC U-19 World Cup Division 1 Asia Qualifiers on directly from India. The Qualifiers will be held in Singapore from where only one out of the four participating teams will make it to the 2018 U-19 World Cup to be held in New Zealand.
