Zohra Sports Management (ZSM) is organizing the Wai Wai Everest Premier League (EPL), a Twenty20 cricket tournament, beginning from September 24 to October 3.
Six franchises, who participated in the then-Nepal Premier League (NPL), will participate in the round robin league tournament that has on offer Rs 5.4 million set aside for the cricketers in match fees.
National team cricketers are leading the franchises with skipper Paras Khadka captaining Vishal Warriors owned by Vishal Group of Companies. The captain of each team will get Rs 20,000 per match and national cricketers playing minimum 15 international matches will get Rs 15,000.
Cricketers participating in the U-19 World Cups will get Rs 12,000 and regional players will be given Rs 8,000 as match fee from their franchises.

Gyanendra Malla will be the captain of Colors X Factors owned by Teletalk Pvt Ltd. Sharad Vesawkar will skipper Tez of Panchakanya Group, Basanta Regmi is the captain of Kantipur Gurkhas belonging to Kantipur Publications. Shakti Gauchan will lead Shanker Group’s Jagdamba Rhinos and Binod Bhandari will be the captain of Ghorahi Cement’s Sagarmatha Legends.
CG Managing Director Nirvana Chaudhary was upbeat with the advent of the tournament. “The objective of the EPL is to elevate cricketing standard in Nepal and the tournament is set to introduce young talents in the leadership of experienced national players. Wai Wai is committed to put all its support in harnessing the full potential of cricket in Nepal,” said Chaudhary.
