England wins the only ODI against Scotland by 39 runs

England has won the only One Day International against Scotland by 39 runs in D/L method in the match held at Mannofield Park, Aberdeen.


Scotland won the toss and elected to field first in the match which was reduced to 20 overs per side as the start was delayed due to the rainfall.


England could manage to make 167 runs in 20 overs with the loss of six wickets. Ian Bell was the highest run scorer for England who made 50 runs in 34 balls. While Captain Alastair Cook contributed 44 runs and Eion Morgen also made 31 runs.


Chasing the target of 173 runs in 20 overs as per the D/L method Scotland was able to make only 133 runs in 20 overs loosing nine wickets.


Michael Leask who made a quick fire 42 runs off 16 balls with two fours and five sixes tried to take Scotland near to the victory but was not able to do so. He was awarded as man of the match for his blazing performance.
